How long should women's dress pants be? (I think mine might need to be shortened)?

I am by no means a little woman (5'8, 190lbs) so I don't understand why my dress pants seem so freakishly long. When I sit down they look well-adjusted, but when I stand up they cover the entire back half of my shoe (I be in flats).

i like to use mine so it looks as if im waiting for a flood.
